Annotation

This course aims to provide advanced speakers with practice and extension of their English language skills and knowledge.  The main focus will be on in-class speaking with delayed error correction, regular listening practice of both native and non-native English users, and systematic accumulation of new vocabulary.

The minor focus will be on pronunciation (specifically problems of Czech speakers of English) and grammar.  Each lesson will include an English idiom and an exploration of its historical background.  There will also be occasional practice of selected Cambridge C1 Advanced exam style questions.

Material will be presented or distributed electronically, no coursebook is required. Some activities will require an internet connected electronic device, a smart phone is fine, tablets and laptops may also be used.
